REMOVE, CORRECT, OPT OUT
GitFind measures public projects, not people. If something we hold or say involves you or your project, here is how to have it removed or corrected. A person reads every request.

§ 1 — what you can ask
4 kinds of request
Remove my username
- for
- Anyone who contributes to a project we track
- what happens
- We delete your GitHub username from our contributor records, past and future, and stop recording it. Project-level numbers (for example, “how many people commit here”) stay, without your name attached.
- include
- Your GitHub username. We may ask you to confirm from the email on your GitHub profile, or by a public gist, so that only you can make the request.
Correct or dispute what we say about a project
- for
- Maintainers and the companies behind a project
- what happens
- If we label your project “archived”, “inactive” or anything else you believe is wrong (it moved to another host, it is stable on purpose, it was renamed), we review it and correct it visibly. Every label shows the measurement and date it rests on, so you can point to exactly what is off.
- include
- The project link, the label, and why it is wrong, with a link that shows it if you have one.
Take my project out of the directory
- for
- A project’s owner or maintainers
- what happens
- We stop listing the project on GitFind’s pages. We keep the dated record of what was already published, because it is a historical record, but we add nothing new to the public listing.
- include
- The project link, sent from an address or account we can match to the project.
Do not contact me
- for
- Anyone
- what happens
- We will not contact you about GitFind for any reason. We do not use contributor data for outreach in any case.
- include
- The email address or username to add to the list.

Contributor usernames are kept for at most 24 months. We never sell personal data or publish lists of people.
